Research & Development

Doing various research and development also evaluate to The Organization performance. The main goal is The Organization can develop and maintain product quality.
SOIL AND WATER MONITORING
The organization strives to realize forest sustainability by monitoring environmental conditions in the work area, especially in areas affected by harvesting activities. Soil and water monitoring is carried out to find out how big the impact of harvesting activities is on the environment.

RIVER WATER QUALITY MONITORING
One of the impacts of logging activities that arise is the influence of river water quality. Given that river water is widely used to support the needs of life for humans and other living things around. The target of this activity is rivers affected by logging activities.

SOIL AND EROSION MONITORING
The potential impact of logging activities aside from the quality of river water is also excessive soil erosion. This excessive erosion can disrupt the balance between soil formation and transport processes, thereby reducing soil productivity. therefore erosion monitoring is carried out at locations affected by harvesting such as ex-skid trails and landfills.

AIR QUALITY MONITORING
The organization conducts air quality monitoring activities in collaboration with PT Karsa Buana Lestari Laboratory. The monitoring results for the last 1 year show that the content of all parameters tested is still below the specified threshold so that the area does not have an adverse impact, especially for employees or the community in the company's operational area.

NOISE LEVEL MONITORING
Noise level monitoring is carried out in collaboration with Karsa Buana Lestari Laboratory. Overall, the noise level for the last 1 year is below the threshold of noise level quality standards in industrial and residential locations. This shows that the company's operational activities do not cause noise, especially the area around the logpond.

SEAWATER QUALITY MONITORING
As with air quality monitoring and noise levels, seawater quality monitoring is also carried out by the Karsa Buana Lestari Laboratory. Analytical results show that during the last 1 year all parameters were below the allowable quality standard threshold. This indicates that the company's operational activities carried out in the Logpond area have no effect on seawater pollution.

The organization has planned an annual felling production allotment, which is one of the efforts to maintain sustainability. The implementation of this annual logging production allowance requires a study of the dynamics of the stand structure of commercial timber. The existing Permanent Measurement Plots (PUPs) are measured and observed periodically for the growth process. up to this year the organization has made 2 series of PUPs.

To preserve the forest, The organization implements Reduce Impact Logging (RIL) system in its harvesting activities. The application of RIL is carried out to minimize the impact of harvesting activities on the condition of vegetation and animals at the harvesting location. Therefore, the organization conducts monitoring of vegetation and animal conditions before logging as a basis for evaluation and comparison in assessing the magnitude of the impact that occurs at the site after logging

The Organization implements a strategy to improve production forests that combines three activities including tree breeding, environmental manipulation, and management of Plant Destruction Organisms. The organization has started trial since 2016 under the name Enrichment Planting Intensive (EPI). The planting models are hiatus and track.
